Cherokee County’s Search and Rescue team is made up entirely of volunteers. We are your neighbors, business owners, patrons, and friends. We come from all walks of life and from all around the county. Our primary objective is to assist our Fire Department and Sheriff’s Office with searching for missing, lost, and injured people. Our volunteers serve in ground teams, as K9 handlers, sign trackers, and are trained in urban as well as wilderness search and rescue. Much of what we do as a team is thankless. We train over 24 times throughout the year and are always on call. This means that when we are called upon, late at night or on a holiday, whether for training or for an actual search, we’re leaving our day jobs and our families to help our community. With that, we’re proud of what we do!
